The New Church is a Bible-based Christian religion which utilizes the theological writings of Emanuel Swedenborg as the lens through which it views the Bible. Our Church is a vibrant and inclusive family, dedicated to sharing the love and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Our History
Founded in 1865, the Brisbane Society of the New Church was early on led by Sylvester Diggles, a prominent colonist and State Ornithologist. The congregation originally met at Wickham Terrace before moving to a larger building on Ann Street in 1909. Another notable figure was the renowned philanthropist George Marchant, who served as a leading member from the late 1800s until his passing.
